Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 August 2026
What this policy covers. This policy is about this website — 8minuteshelp.com.au — and about emailing us. Our products have their own privacy documentation, provided separately to the organisations that use them, because the information handled there is quite different from anything this website touches.
Who we are
This website is operated by 8 Minutes Pty Ltd (ACN 693 282 736, ABN 58 693 282 736), an Australian proprietary company registered in Victoria and trading as 8 Minutes Help. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean 8 Minutes Pty Ltd.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect through this website
Very little, by design. This is a static information website. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no forms and no shopping cart.
- Nothing you type. There is nowhere on this site to enter personal information, so we do not collect any that way.
- Server logs. Our web hosting provider keeps standard technical logs when a page is requested — typically the IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the response status, and the browser's user-agent string. These are generated by the hosting infrastructure, are used for security and diagnosing faults, and are not used to build a profile of you.
- Email you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to write.
Cookies, analytics and third-party content
This website sets no cookies. We run no analytics and no tracking of any kind. There are no advertising pixels, no embedded fonts loaded from other companies, no social media widgets, and no third-party scripts. Everything the site loads comes from this domain.
Because of this, there is no consent banner on this site — there is nothing to consent to.
How we use personal information
We use the limited information above only to:
- reply to you, and continue a conversation you have started;
- keep the website running, available and secure; and
- meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We do not use your information for marketing unless you have asked us to send you something, and we do not add people to mailing lists because they emailed us.
Disclosure
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Personal information may be handled by the service providers we rely on to operate — principally our domain, web hosting and email providers — strictly as part of providing those services to us. We may also disclose information where we are required or authorised to do so by law.
Some of these providers may store or process information on infrastructure located outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information continues to be handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Storage, security and retention
Email correspondence is held in our business mailbox. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure — including using reputable providers and keeping access to accounts limited to the people who need it.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep correspondence only for as long as we have a genuine business or legal reason to, and then delete it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at manager@8minuteshelp.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable period — normally within 30 days.
We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. If we cannot do what you have asked, we will tell you why in writing.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first — email manager@8minuteshelp.com.au with the details and we will investigate and respond in writing.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
This website is aimed at organisations and businesses, not at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
